: You've Got Mail: AOL Unveils Stand-Alone Apps is the headline in PCWorld. Sounds exciting until you realize that you still have to be an AOL member to download this suite, even though it does not require the AOL client. I wonder if this isn't a little bit backwards? I guess they don't feel they can attract existing Internet users to become subscribers, so why bother.
